Apply for Nedbank Yes for Youth Programme 2024

Nedbank said YES to creating youth employment opportunities, building communities and transforming South Africa. Nedbank has been a proud supporter of the Youth Employment Services (YES) initiative since 2019, and demonstrates Nedbank’s commitment to fostering job creation for the country’s unemployed youth and helping drive a more sustainable and inclusive country.  To date, Nedbank has been the largest contributor among South African banks to participate in this initiative at a large scale, and has supported over 5 000 South African youth in equipping them with skills to either enter the job market or become entrepreneurs.

The YES Programme is a business-led collaboration with government to reduce unemployment by providing youth with an opportunity to develop new skills and gain meaningful workplace experience, which will in turn significantly improve their chances of finding long-term future employment.

Nedbank YES youth will be employed for 12 months to gain quality work experience. The YES Programme is not a learnership, an internship or an apprenticeship programme.

Nedbank YES youth receive a monthly stipend guided by the YES Programme. A stipend is monetary support to help an individual pay for living, food and travel-related expenses.

The Nedbank quality work experience programme will be based at Nedbank’s various sites, branches and offices across the country, with some positions allowing for the possibility of working according to a hybrid or remote work model.

Depending on the division, role and job requirement, Nedbank YES youth may be required to work weekdays or according to a shift schedule (which may include weekends and public holidays). This means that YES youth must be able to travel to and from the Nedbank workplace.
